How the application runs
The application is submitted online to Canadian immigration, the government fee and the biometrics fee are paid at that point, and you are then instructed to attend a visa application centre to give fingerprints and a photograph.
There is normally no interview. The officer decides on your forms, your letter and your documents โ which is precisely why the written file deserves the time.
The documents that do the work
Beyond identity and the forms themselves, the file needs to answer two questions: why this trip, and why you will return.
- Passport bio-data page and previous travel history
- A clear letter setting out purpose, dates, funding and your ties at home
- Employment letter, payslips and a tax certificate
- Six months of bank statements consistent with the declared income
- Invitation letter and host's status documents where applicable
- Property, business or family evidence supporting your return
Fees, centres and timing
The visitor visa fee and the separate biometrics fee are published by Canadian immigration and are payable during the online application. Biometrics are collected at designated centres in Nigeria; appointment availability, not the form, is usually the slow step.
Processing times are published per country and change frequently. For a wedding, conference or school event, we work backwards from the date and file with a genuine buffer rather than the minimum.
After submission
Once biometrics are given, the file moves to assessment and you may be asked for your passport for visa printing. Travel arrangements should stay flexible until that stage, and we hold bookings accordingly.
Fees, centre locations and processing times should be confirmed on the official Canadian immigration site for your application date.
